Steve Williams Music

Music is a big part of my life. This is a home for me to showcase it and look for future collaborations. Listen to some of my original tracks below. Many of these will be part of the album release I am working on for late 2020.

Where to find my music

My music history

Growing up, I learnt piano in primary school, like my older brother did. I never developed enough to be graded. Being a 90’s kid, punk and rock was still considered “popular” and was played on the radio, hard to believe these days… So that is where my influences stem and still makes up the bulk of my music consumption. During high school, my little brother was big into Nirvana and picked up a guitar as consequence. I was short to follow and dived in to learning by playing all my favourite blink-182 songs.

Around the age of 16, I found an issue of ‘Computer Music’ in the local newsagency titled ‘The Essential Guide To Recording Guitar’. Bought it, read it, used it as instructed to invest in some gear. Shout out to the guys at Turramurra Music, in particular Adrian and Steve in the studio section, my go to music shop, they have been providing me with great advice and discounts on gear over the years – I highly recommend them if you are from the North of Sydney. It was from then that I started to fiddle with writing and recording and I’ve been doing it for fun ever since.

I now write and record all the parts of my songs except the vocals. I am not a singer. I wish I was but my voice is not something anyone would enjoy listening to. As such, I have been collaborating with friends over the years to finish my songs. I appreciate the help that everyone has given me over the years and have listed their names below in the Thank You section.

My philosophy behind what music means to me stems from happiness. It is amazing that music can make people feel so many emotions. I love the feeling when a song makes the hair stand on my body. To me this is happiness and bliss.

A friend once told me, if she could have any super power, it would be the ability to control people’s emotions, so she could make everyone happy. Everyone deserves the feeling of happiness. My only hope for my music is that somewhere, someone gets the same feeling from one of my songs, that I get from my favourite songs. That, is like having a super power.

As happiness should be free, I make all my music freely available to download. If anyone wishes to contribute to the cost of producing these songs, they can choose a value to contribute on my BandCamp profile.

Are you a singer?

If you are a singer looking for someone to collaborate with, please get in contact with me via stevewilliams91musicprofiles@gmail.com or any of my social channels, or the form at the bottom. I have also started using Fiverr to look for singers, so you can also get in touch by my profile there. I always have something in the works that needs a vocal line and would love to see if your voice suits!
